Q: WHAT MADE YOU FALL IN LOVE WITH BARRE?
A: I felt strong, empowered, connected with myself after class. I feel in love many, many years ago and my love of barre grows with every class.

Q: WHAT'S ONE THING YOU WOULD TELL YOUR YOUNGER SELF?
A: Enjoy your body, be proud of your body, respect your body and damn it, wear sunscreen!

Crystal Thomson-Dick

Q: DESCRIBE YOUR CLASS STYLE? 
A: BANGIN!!! Also, Motivating, Challenging, Technical & Personal. 

Q: WHAT'S YOUR DAY JOB?
A: I'm mostly a stay-at-home mom to my two amazing kids. I also work for Newad Media part-time. In my LBK (life before kids), I was a Psychological Assistant where I administered psychological testing on clients. 

Q: WHAT'S YOUR WHY?
A:  My why is my family. The opportunity to grow, build strength and share my love of movement with every client I see at the studio and every member of the BBS community that I interact with, is another small part of what drives me to do what I do. When I sweat, push myself a little harder, and share my enthusiasm and excitement for barre and the process of doing something for yourself, to better yourself; I become a better person in all areas of my life. To strive to be the best mother, wife, daughter and friend that I can be is my main focus, and the reason I get out of bed every morning.

"Life is too short to worry about things you cannot change. Let it go, and focus on the things you can change. Remember that it's all a part of the journey and the lesson." 

 

Amber Brodziak

Q: WHAT MADE YOU FALL IN LOVE WITH BARRE? 
A: The power of the movement and the effectiveness of the exercise. For years prior, I worked out with different methods and exercises, and none have transformed my body, or been as effective as barre. 

Q: DESCRIBE YOUR CLASS STYLE?
A: Sweaty, intense, loud, fun, purposeful.

Q: WHAT'S ONE THING YOU WISH YOU COULD TELL YOUR YOUNGER SELF?
A:  I wish so much that I could have realized how much people are just truly worried and consumed with themselves. I worried so much (and sometimes still do) what others think of me. Fear of other's judgements has stopped me from doing so many things that I wish I could have just pushed through. As I have gotten older, I have realized that everyone has their own story and 'stuff'; and we are just all in the same boat often consumed with insecurity and fear. I have felt so much better working at letting go what others think and pursuing what has felt good and right for me.

Brittany Lange

Q: WHAT'S YOUR WHY? 
A: I am constantly trying to challenge myself in new ways - always learning, always growing. Seeking that challenge gets me out of bed in the morning and is what I bring to my classes. I am always trying to push myself to that next level - you with me? ;) 

Q: WHAT DOES BEING A PART OF THE BBS TRIBE MEAN TO YOU?
A: Everything. Being a part of this community is so special - no matter what kind of day I am having I always leave the studio feeling better than when I walked through the doors. Sometimes we are the ones motivating and other times we are there to receive that push, that's the beauty of it. It's simple - we RISE together! <3 

Q: YOUR PERSONALITY IN 3 WORDS OR LESS?
A:  Perfectionist. Ambitious. Confident.

Jaimie Love

Q: WHAT'S YOUR WHY? 
A: I should probably say my family and friends, right?! (Hi mom) ... I love connecting with others, be it a coworker, friend or the barista at Starbucks. I love finding things, big or small, to relate to others. 

Q: WHAT DOES BEING A PART OF THE BBS TRIBE MEAN TO YOU?
A: It means the world! This tribe changed my life. I felt a part of something bigger from the moment I walked in as a client. This community is so inspiring, welcoming & inclusive. <3 

Q: WHAT OTHER TYPES OF FITNESS/SPORTS DO YOU ENJOY?
A:  I'm an avid golfer, mean lawn bowler & mediocre softball player.

Vanessa Stewart

Q: WHAT OTHER TYPES OF FITNESS/SPORTS DO YOU ENJOY? 
A: Ashtanga yoga, swimming, spin, basketball, hiking. 

Q: WHAT DOES BEING A PART OF THE BBS TRIBE MEAN TO YOU?
A: The BBS tribe has always been welcoming, positive and authentic, and that in turn encourages me to bring the same uplifting vibrations to every aspect of my life.

Q: WHAT'S YOUR WHY?
A: My WHY is redefining what I can and can't do. Gritting my teeth and surprising myself with that one extra set completed at the end of a hard series. Realizing that I am much more capable than I think I am. Pushing my own limits. Seeing other people experience the same effect through barre, then having the trickle effect throughout their own lives; nothing better.

Lena Le Huray

Q: WHAT OTHER TYPES OF FITNESS / SPORTS DO YOU ENJOY? 
A: Pilates and dance cardio (I still secretly do Jane Fonda workouts)! 

Q: WHAT'S YOUR WHY?
A:  To see women set free from any unhealthy relationships they may have towards food and their body, and help them walk in full health - physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Q: WHAT DOES BEING A PART OF THE BBS TRIBE MEAN TO YOU?
A: I have always had the desire to help women love the skin they're in, and care for their body through movement. Being a part of the BBS Tribe allows me to show people that fitness can, and should be, fun. Being a part of the BBS Tribe is like being a part of a family for me, where I get to go hang out with a room full of my best friends every time I teach or take class.

Chantelle Majkovic

Q: WHAT MADE YOU FALL IN LOVE WITH BARRE?
A:  Everything! The energy, movement, music, and the sweat. But MOST of all, the people.

Q: WHAT OTHER TYPES OF FITNESS / SPORTS DO YOU ENJOY? 

A: I love running with my dog and dancing in the kitchen with my 4 kids.

Q: WHAT DOES BEING A PART OF THE BBS TRIBE MEAN TO YOU?
A: I always say at the end of my classes, "Thank you for filling my bucket". The tribe, the community and the space provide my heart with so much goodness that I am literally overflowing after each class. I couldn't be more grateful to be a part of the BBS tribe.

Lindsay Butchko

The original, like a classic tote that complements every look, this one hour workout will tone and challenge all levels of fitness. This is a class you can't go wrong with. The BBF tones and blasts common problem areas through a series of strategic exercises that focus on strength and flexibility while incorporating the ballet barre. The routine keeps fitness fresh with innovative moves complementary to all levels of fitness. > Classes in studio b are smaller and may be a good fit for first timers.
