A: My Why is my amazing husband, supportive family and inspiring friends. Salsa dancing and high adrenaline activities like mountain biking set my soul on fire.

A:  Figure skating, snowboarding, mountain biking, running and yoga.

A:  Registered Perioperative Nurse.

Karen Sarafincian

Q: WHAT'S YOUR DAY JOB? 
A: Dance Teacher/Day Dreamer. I'm also a trained hot yoga instructor and you'll occasionally find me at lululemon.

Q: DESCRIBE YOUR CLASS STYLE:
A: Dance teacher chic, unexpected tunes.

Q: WHAT DOES BEING A PART OF THE BBS TRIBE MEAN TO YOU?
A: I moved to Calgary on a whim, knew essentially no one and had no connections. This place opened its arms, created community, incredible friendships and swerved my life onto a new path. The beautiful people who share movement here each week inspire me to push myself to be more.

Crystal T. Thomson-Dick

Q: DESCRIBE YOUR CLASS STYLE? 
A: BANGIN!!! Also, Motivating, Challenging, Technical & Personal. 

Q: WHAT'S YOUR DAY JOB?
A: I'm mostly a stay-at-home mom to my two amazing kids. I also work for Newad Media part-time. In my LBK (life before kids), I was a Psychological Assistant where I administered psychological testing on clients. 

Q: WHAT'S YOUR WHY?
A:  My why is my family. The opportunity to grow, build strength and share my love of movement with every client I see at the studio and every member of the BBS community that I interact with, is another small part of what drives me to do what I do. When I sweat, push myself a little harder, and share my enthusiasm and excitement for barre and the process of doing something for yourself, to better yourself; I become a better person in all areas of my life. To strive to be the best mother, wife, daughter and friend that I can be is my main focus, and the reason I get out of bed every morning.

"Life is too short to worry about things you cannot change. Let it go, and focus on the things you can change. Remember that it's all a part of the journey and the lesson." 

 

Emma D. Doll

Q: WHAT MADE YOU FALL IN LOVE WITH BARRE? 
A: When I am deep into a barre movement, my mind completely clears of all anxiety and worry, my body and spirit strengthen. 

Q: WHAT'S ONE THING YOU WISH YOU COULD TELL YOUR YOUNGER SELF?
A: Your body is beautiful, only you need to know this and truly believe it. <3 

Q: WHAT'S YOUR DAY JOB?
A:  I sew and design clothes for my own Slow Fashion Label.

Tara Munro

Q: WHAT'S YOUR DAY JOB? 
A: Bad-ass #momboss and BBS Studio Manager. 

Q: WHAT MADE YOU FALL IN LOVE WITH BARRE?
A: I felt strong, empowered, connected with myself after class. I feel in love many, many years ago and my love of barre grows with every class.

Q: WHAT'S ONE THING YOU WOULD TELL YOUR YOUNGER SELF?
A: Enjoy your body, be proud of your body, respect your body and damn it, wear sunscreen!

Nicole B. Bouwman

Q: WHAT'S YOUR DAY JOB? 
A: Zookeeper by day; Barre and Dance teacher by night - what could be better!?!? 

Q: WHAT'S YOUR WHY?
A: Being the best version of myself and putting 100% into everything I do.<3 

Q: WHAT DOES BEING A PART OF THE BBS TRIBE MEAN TO YOU?
A:  Everything. Constant support and acceptance. Heart swelling always!

This class is designed to target all areas of the body with an emphasis on the core. Barre paired with an intense core segment and plenty of stretching, what could be better. Be prepared to strengthen, sweat, and stretch.
